The evil Empire has fallen but Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they enlist the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.

A beautifully delicate and nuanced concoction of a film, My Favourite Cake, co-written and directed by Iranian filmmakers Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha, explores themes of love, regret and second chances with nuance and grace. It’s set against the backdrop of a country with strict rules and restrictions, especially when it comes to the rights and freedoms of women.

Hen (also known as Kota) is a 2025 tragicomic drama directed by György Pálfi. Shot entirely from a chicken's perspective using real stunt hens, the film follows a plucky protagonist who escapes an industrial farm to find a home in a crumbling Greek seaside restaurant, where she unwittingly observes the chaotic, greedy, and dangerous human lives around her.

The film follows Effi (Leisa Gwenllian), a young woman desperate to escape a town where the pubs are closed, the jobs have vanished and her grandmother works night shifts in the local chip shop just to get by. A chance encounter in a Llandudno nightclub with injured soldier Lee (Tom Rhys Harries), briefly opens a door to something better. For a moment, Effi glimpses a life she never imagined. The reality that follows is far tougher.

Maona Cinema is delighted to host the Oswestry Film Festival, celebrating films inspired by the Shropshire and Welsh Borders and work created by local filmmakers and producers. Running from 10am–10.30pm, the festival features short films, feature films, animation, and filmmaker Q&As. Day tickets are £25, including unlimited tea and coffee. Individual film tickets will be available on the door for £5, subject to availability. Confirmed films include The Lettermen, The Last Witness, Coch Bach Y Bala, Translations, Drawn from Life, and a selection of short films. The day concludes with garden drinks from 8.30pm–10.30pm.

Woody, Buzz, and Jessie face an existential threat as their kid, Bonnie, becomes obsessed with a frog-shaped smart tablet named Lilypad. As traditional toys are cast aside for screen time, Jessie struggles to stay relevant while an army of commemorative Buzz Lightyear figures stuck in "toy mode" creates widespread chaos.

Tuner is a crime-heist thriller about Niki White, a former child piano prodigy with hyperacusis (a hearing condition causing acute sensitivity to sound). When his mentor and business partner, Harry, falls into deep medical debt, Niki discovers his pitch-perfect hearing allows him to crack safes, pulling him into a dangerous criminal underworld.

Disclosure Day follows a cybersecurity specialist and a Midwest meteorologist racing to expose alien existence to the world. As global conflict looms, they must evade a secret government agency tasked with suppressing the truth, ultimately using a viral broadcast to reveal humanity's connection with extraterrestrial life.

Minions & Monsters is an animated comedy film by Illumination. Set in 1920s Hollywood, it follows a tribe of Minions who accidentally become massive movie stars. When "talkies" ruin their fame, two Minions decide to make their own monster movie, inadvertently summoning real, planet-threatening creatures that they must stop.
