As we celebrate European Art House Cinema Day we are happy to present On Our Own ( De capul nostru)Flavia, a sharp, independent teenager, lives alone in a small Romanian town after her parents move to Italy for work. When their impending divorce threatens her emotional stability, she finds comfort in Luca, a friend facing similar family struggles. Their fragile world changes when two runaway siblings, Lia (12) and Dudu (9), arrive seeking refuge. Caring for them, Flavia discovers a sense of purpose and belonging, imagining a surrogate family. But Lia resists her attempts at closeness, determined to leave. When the children depart, Flavia confronts the painful limits of connection and her generation’s complicated relationship with family and intimacy.
